Nature In Our Hands
from 01/06/2025 until 31/07/2026
The Nature in Our Hands project aimed to engage young learners in environmental stewardship through citizen science.
It focuses on empowering students to observe, record, and interpret biodiversity data within their local ecosystems, fostering both scientific literacy and a sense of responsibility for nature.
The project introduces a co-creation model where students actively design the survey tools and protocols, rather than simply following pre-set instructions. This participatory approach combines immersive outdoor learning with classroom-based analysis, bridging experiential education and data-driven science. The integration of art and outdoor education elements alongside scientific inquiry creates a multidisciplinary, inclusive and engaging learning experience.
This initiative demonstrates how education can move beyond traditional boundaries to cultivate critical thinking, creativity, and environmental awareness in future generations in an inclusive way. It offers a replicable framework for schools and communities seeking to combine STEM learning with eco-citizen science and sustainability goals.
